Gandy Warm Springs

Snake Valley
Gandy Warm Springs is located on the southeastern side of Gandy Mountain. It is a series of warm springs, about 80 degrees Fahrenheit, that flow from the surrounding limestone rock and into a channel.

Watercress and algae are common aquatic plants found in the water of Gandy Warm Springs. Speckled dace are a native fish. A tiny springsnail, Pyrgulopsis saxatilis, is endemic to this spring (found nowhere else in the world). Unfortunately, the larger, pointed red-rimmed melania snail has been introduced to this spring (probably from someone dumping their aquarium tank into the spring), and has taken over most of the habitat.

Gandy Warm Spring is a popular spot for locals and also used for baptisms.
